Indonesia, as one of the global leaders in the halal industry, continues to take progressive steps to enhance halal certification and regulations in the country. In the latest development, the Indonesian Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) has forged a significant collaboration with Malaysia.

The BPJPH of Indonesia has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) and the Director of the Malaysian Halal Council. This collaboration aims to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation in the field of halal certification between the two countries. In line with this, JAKIM has updated its list of recognized halal certification bodies, replacing LPPOM MUI with BPJPH.
Through this collaboration, Indonesia and Malaysia will share knowledge, experiences, and best practices in halal certification. The main objectives are to strengthen mutual recognition of halal certificates issued by BPJPH and JAKIM, facilitate smoother halal trade between the two countries, and solidify Indonesia and Malaysia’s positions as global leaders in the halal industry.
Additionally, this collaboration is expected to encourage the harmonization of halal standards and certification procedures between both nations, making it easier for companies to obtain recognized halal certification in both countries and expand their access to a wider halal market.
